Hello Bill, and welcome to Galaxy of Stars.
1. Your career to-date has taken many paths which include acting, writing, directing and music.
Do you have a favourite one of these, or one that you feel you have achieved more out of?
All paths are one to me. I used to carve them up into boxes but it got exhausting sorting it all out. Now i just dive from one thing into the next and it feels like there is flow between them all. These impulses originate in love and passion; each discipline is just a chance to reiterate the sam truth.
2. How did you get in to the music, what was it that influenced you to give it a go?
Music saved my life as a teenager. Bob Dylan. Pete Townshend. John Lennon and the Beatles. It still saves me. If there is any way that I can give back to The Tower of song; I will. It is out of love and moral obligation. we are all born to sing.
3. When you were cast in the role as Adrian Conrad in Stargate SG-1 were you aware that the role would only be
for a few episodes?
I think the intention was to have the character last much longer than that. I was informed after the fact that the producers had some concerns about my gait. I have a limp that they felt was inappropriate for a g'oauld. So, perhaps they killed me off early because of that. I still hold out hope that one of my clones will return one day cause more trouble.
4. Did you watch Stargate SG-1 prior to auditioning for the role of Conrad?
A few times. I try to catch all the shows that get filmed in Vancouver so that I know what to expect in the audition room.
5. Do you watch Stargate SG-1 since your character was killed off?
Oh, yes. I have fallen in love with the show. ALL my friends have been on over the years so it is fun to watch see their work. SG-1 is just a hell of a lot of fun.
6. Do you watch Stargate Atlantis? If you were approached and asked to have a guest role or more recurring
role on Atlantis as another race where your face would not be recognised as Conrad's would you want to do it?
I have only seen a few episodes. Very different. I would do it in a heartbeat.
7. Do you have any interesting storys that happened when you were on the set of Stargate SG-1 and/or
Da Vinci's Inquest?
Well, getting killed off by "Q" was pretty freaking cool. I never expected to have a knock-down fight with John DeLancie. A wonderful man. Also, shooting at the abandoned Mental Hospital that was Conrad's lair was pretty spooky. You can feel a very palpable energy in those dark rooms. Pain. Sorrow. you can taste it.
8. Have you got any future projects lined up that you'd like to share with us?
I just finished a play that i wrote and directed called Clown Elections. you can check that out at: clownelections.com. Two more movies that I need funding for another album. Yup, lots going on.
9. Besides SG-1 and Da Vinci's Inquest you have guest starred on other tv shows such as Millennium and more
recently The 4400. What is it like to be a guest star on a show where everyone already knows each other and
you have to fit in? Do you get to work much with the main casts?
Being an actor is the most fun I could imagine. Getting paid to play. Wow. What a privilege. The casts are always very welcoming. The most generous in my career is Amanda Tapping. I love her profoundly. What a class act.
10. What is your favourite genre in film/TV and who would you most like to work with on-screen and/or behind the
scenes on that genre?
Gritty drama. Philip seymour Hoffman.
11. Have you ever done any Theatre performances? if not, is it something you would be interested in?
Yes sir. I have two new plays on my slate. I am in a show called Poster Boys in March and another called Adrift on The Nile in July. can't wait. I love theatre.
12. Are you a big internet user? Do you ever browse for any fan sites about you or the shows that you have appeared on?
I "google" myself occasionally just to stay current on my own career! I am still a Nube though and just want to keep learning.
13. Have you ever attended (as a Guest as opposed to a fan) a Convention for any of the shows you have appeared on?
If not, would you be interested in attending such an event?
Haven't ever been invited. I would love to go.
14. Do you have a list of the top 5 or 10 things you would love to achieve? If so, are there any you would like to
share with us?
Again, it is all about love and passion and trusting that my road will take me closer to a sense of peace and truth. Nothing else matters.
15. Finally, what would you say to someone if you were trying to convince them to join Galaxy of Stars and have the
opportunity to chat to the stars such as yourself?
I'd tell them to check out the site the concept speaks for itself.
Thank you very much Bill for taking the time to answer my questions. I wish you all the best in your future. |
