| Hello April, and welcome to Galaxy of Stars. 1. I understand your career has mainly focused on acting, have you ever considered directing, producing or writing for TV/Film? I have actually always felt that I would eventually find myself behind the camera...I did in fact direct a short film for "The Reel Fast Film Festival" in 2003...What an amazing experience! I did discover through that experience however, that an editor deserves MUCH more respect than I had thought before. 2. At what age did you begin acting, and did you ever imagine you would still be doing it this present day? I always knew that I would be an actor! I began at 10, but didn't get much acting work at all throughout my teens...I was around 20 before the work really started to come for me...I never, however, lost faith! 3. You are a Casting Associate for a future film currently titled ‘Comeback Season’. Are you interested in getting involved more in Casting? Yes,I love casting! I have done quite a bit of it lately, and have found that it is an education an actor could never buy! There is no better way to study "the process" than to be in the way. I feel like I've become a much better actor since working in casting. 4. If you were asked to come back to Stargate SG-1 as a different character, but behind make-up so that you are not recognised, would you like to do that? Are you kidding?!! I'd LOVE it! 5. Would you also like to appear in Stargate Atlantis? Repeat answer above! LOL! 6. Have you been watching SG-1 since your episodes to see what is developing? I must admit, I don't watch much TV at all...I really prefer to read, and when I'm craving visual entertainment, I will go to, or rent a movie. I am curious however, to find out what is happening with the series. 7. Besides ‘Comeback Season’, have you got anything else lined-up? I just finished a guest starring role in a very interesting episode of "The Collector" it's the 2nd or 3rd episode of Season 3, and called "The Chef"... My husband is actually played by Alex Zahara, who is also on the Galexy of Stars! He did an AMAZING job in the episode!! I also just finished "Flight 93" for A&E Television, and am shooting a family Christmas movie for Lifetime Movie called "His and Her Christmas"... I've been very busy...VERY blessed! 8. You have worked on various TV shows such as Stargate SG-1, Young Blades, Millennium, First Wave etc. What is it like to be a guest star on a show where everyone already knows each other and you have to fit in? Do you get to work much with the main casts? It's always a different experience, and one never really knows what to expect, but generally, I've been very fortunate to have been welcomed onto each show as if it were my own! 9. Comedy is your favourite genre followed closely by Sci-Fi right? Who would you most love to work with in the comedy genre? Comedy IS my favorite! I was very fortunate this summer to have had the chance to work with one of my "comic heros", Molly Shannon! We worked together for several days on "Gray Matters". I felt such a strange pressure to try to be funny in front of what I consider to be a comic genious, but it went really well...it was a very well written script, so I didn't have to add too much to make my character funny to watch. I would love to work with Ellen DeGeneres, Will Farrell, and especially, Christopher Walkin... we have mutual friends so I've met him on a few occasions, and I love his dry sense of humour. 10. Do you ever get recognised much when you are out in public? I have been recognised on surprisingly, quite a few occassions. It always shocks be, but then I remember that Vancouver is relatively pretty small, and most of the locals watch programs that are shot here, so it makes sense. 11. Have you ever attended a Convention for any shows that you have appeared in? If not, do you think you would be interested? I have not attended a Convention yet...I say YET as I would LOVE to be invited to one! 12. Are you a big internet user? Do you ever browse for any fans sites about you or the shows that you have appeared on? I would be fibbing if I denied giving in to my curiousity on occassion! I get quite a bit of mail, and that usually informs me about a new site, or story etc. 13. I understand you like to get involved in charity work? Can you tell us a bit more about this and how you personally get involved? I am involved with the "Make a Wish Foundation", and I'm on the Board of Directors for the Lions Gate Hospice Society...I also love to be invited to participate in other causes...especially ones that benefit children. I wish I could do more. 14. Do you have a list of the top 5 or 10 things you would love to achieve? If so, are there any you would like to share with us? I would love to have children, and pray that I would be an amazing mother! That is the most important accomplishment I can think of for me. 15. Finally, what would you say to someone if you were trying to convince them to join Galaxy of Stars and have the opportunity to chat to the stars such as yourself? I couldn't understand why someone would need to be "convinced"!? I think it's a huge honour to asked to be included in a site as well run as "Galaxy of Stars"! Thank you very much April for taking the time to answer my questions. I wish you all the best in your future. Thank you Andrew, it was my absolute pleasure...anytime! |
